New Year, New Everything!
Happy New Year, Family!
As the sun rises on this first day of 2026, I’m sending you all warmth, peace, and—of course—plenty of good flavor.
In our culture, the New Year has always been about more than just a date on the calendar. It’s a time of intentionality and remembrance. Whether you’re simmering a pot of black-eyed peas for luck, braising collard greens for prosperity, or baking a golden pan of cornbread to represent the riches of a life well-lived, remember that every ingredient tells a story of resilience and joy.
Wait, where are my manners? Allow me to reintroduce myself. For the past 25 years, I have worked in some aspect of hospitality & food service, from restaurants to hotels, to entertainment venues to corporate on-site dining facilities, and even in the high school classroom. My passion has always remained sharing great food with great people, and learning something new along the way. As our lives get busier with balancing work, family, and other interests, my goal is to participate in the moments when you stop to savor. Coordinating a babysitter, or dinner reservations, or navigating Atlanta traffic can sometimes be a headache. Why deal with all of that when you can simply dine at home? J. Rodney Personal Dining Service brings the restaurant experience to your home. If you’re celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or date night, let me take care of the cooking with a personalized dining experience in the comfort of your own home.
In a world that moves faster every day, let’s lean into the cherished slow-cooked moments, sharing meals with the ones we love without the chaos.
May your plates be full, your spirits be high, and your year be seasoned to perfection. Let's make 2026 a masterpiece, one bite at a time.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Personal Chef,
Chef JRR.
